Mrs Foluke M Ajiboye-Dare holds a Master of Laws degree (LLM) from the University of Sussex, UK and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from Igbinedion University, Nigeria. She has a wide knowledge of law, which is evident in her years of legal practice as well as her lecturing experience.

 

In 2010, she was called to the Nigerian Bar as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Subsequently, she worked at the law firm of Tayo Jegede and Co where she represented clients in court either alone or as co-counsel in civil litigation, election petitions and corporate law suits. In 2013, she joined the academic field as a law lecturer at the University of Barotseland in Zambia. She was one of the law professionals posted on Foreign Service to Kampala International University (KIU) for 2 years under the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps Scheme. During her stay in Uganda, she joined the East African Branch of the International Law Association and was the matron of Forum For Ideas (FFI) at KIU. After her Foreign Service in Uganda, she returned to the University of Barotseland where she worked till 2019.

In the last 5 years, she has taught various law courses including international law, intellectual property law, the law of tort, the law of contract, administrative law, ciminal law, jurisprudence and the conflicts of laws. In 2016, she published a book titled "Terrorism: The Nigerian Perspective", which was inspired by her LLM dissertation. She also wrote two articles in volume 3, issue 6, of the African Multidisciplinary Journal  with the titles: "A Critical Examination of the Concept of Failed States" and "Does TRIPS Prevent Developing Countries from Responding Effectively to Health Problems among their Population?".

Her LLD research focuses on the legality of anticipatory self-defence against a maritime cyber-attack.
