South African Research Chair in the Law of the Sea and Development in Africa

Emmanuel Obinna Nkomadu commenced his doctoral research in February 2014. His research title is: "The Legal Tools to Combat Sea Piracy in Gulf of Guinea".

He was admitted to the practice of law in Nigeria in 2008 when he started working with Femi Falana Chamber at Ado-Ekiti (Nigeria). He was awarded the Master degree in law (LL.M) at the University of Ibadan (Nigeria) in November 2011. The title of his dissertation was: "A Critical Analysis of the Legal Controls of Taxation of Ecclesiastical and Cognate Institutions in Comparative Law.

He became a lecturer at Afe Babalola University in Ado-Ekiti where he has taught Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and Intellectual Property Law.

He was given study leave without pay in 2014.
